Qualified Tips is a record-keeping and estimation tool. It is not tax advice and is not a substitute for a qualified tax professional. The federal No Tax on Tips deduction (OBBBA §224) applies to tax years 2025–2028, subject to income limits, SSN requirements, and other conditions. State and local taxes may still apply — federal conformity varies by state.

Using Qualified Tips

By using the Qualified Tips app or the qualifiedtips.app website, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use them. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after an update means you accept the new version.

Not tax advice

Qualified Tips helps you record your tips and estimate a potential deduction. It does not prepare, review, or file your tax return, and it does not give tax, legal, or financial advice. Estimates are illustrative and depend on your full tax situation. For your specific circumstances — especially self-employment, phase-out income ranges, SSTB questions, or state conformity — consult a qualified tax professional before you file.

Your records are your responsibility

The app stores your data on your device. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you log, for backing it up, and for the figures you report to the IRS or your state. We are not responsible for lost data, missed deductions, or amounts reported in reliance on the app's estimates.

No warranty

Qualified Tips and qualifiedtips.app are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. Tax rules change, and our content reflects our understanding at the time of writing. We don't guarantee that any estimate, figure, or statement is complete, current, or applicable to your situation.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Qualified Tips is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or website, including any tax outcome. Your use is at your own discretion and risk.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service: no attempts to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or resell it, and no use that breaks the law. We may suspend access that threatens the service or other people.
